About the event

The aim of these rides is to introduce club members to the Bash format as well as to help riders get back into the Bash.

The Bash is a road ride where groups attempt to ride as fast as possible by each rider taking a short hard pull on the front of the group before peeling off to rejoin the back of the group whilst the next person in line takes over. This format is repeated throughout the ride from start to finish.

This is not a beginners ride and the pace will be 17-20mph (27-32kph). Riders should be able to manage 15mph+ (24kph+) solo or 16mph+ (26kph+) in a group. This will be a non-drop ride and we will ride at the slowest riders pace.

The route will be the Thursday Base route or a modified version of that route. All the Bash routes can be found here.

Check out our guidelines on how to ride in a chaingang and paceline here.

We will provide advice and tips before the start and whilst riding in a group.  We will also mix up between normal bash paceline and chain gang format.
