FUNDING REQUESTS

Our members have the option to submit a funding request to the RLSCC committee for an event, club equipment, social outing or growth and development. An example of a request for funding might be for food and drink to host a cycling event for club members or perhaps a bulk order of club colour beanie hats (our most recent funding venture!)

Please note, that all funding requests are for MEMBERS ONLY and requests will be raised in the next monthly committee meeting where they are discussed and voted on. Please complete the form below to submit your funding request.

You will hear back from a member of the committee as to whether you have been successful in your request or not. Good luck!

Tell us about you

This can be a phone number or email address. Or if you prefer, the name of the Committee Member(s) you know and with whom you've discussed the request.

This can be found on your RLSCC membership confirmation email. You must have a current active RLSCC Membership to submit a Funding Request.

Tell us about the funding you need

What type of funding are you looking for?
Loan - I want help with the upfront costs but I expect to pay all or most of it back.
Subsidy - I want the club to subsidise an event so that the cost to the attendees is reduced or even completely paid for.
Product - I want the club to purchase something that can be used by club members.
Service - I want the club to pay for a service that has a one off or ongoing cost.
Other

Describe how the money will be used for. This can just be a brief summary.

Please describe the amount of money you are asking for. It may be a simple answer for a fixed one off cost, or it may be more complicated, see the notes below for guidance.

Note: More detail about your request, where it is available, helps us make decisions more quickly.

If the request is for an event, when will it take place (rough dates are okay)?

It is hard to justify short notice requests as this limits the people able to benefit. A minimum of 2 months is considered reasonable notice. This allows time for the funding decision, advertising, and notice for potential attendees.

Requests with less than 2 months notice will require robust justification to be considered.

Tell us why RLSCC should fund this request

It is easier to justify the spending of club funds when we know that it will benefit a broad range of people. Especially when larger amounts are requested. It may be a simple known figure e.g. up to 10 people can stay in a bunk house for a weekend or it may be relative e.g. up to half of all club weekend road cyclists

Relevant details are:

  • How many people will benefit (you don't have to give specific numbers if not known, just describe the type of people who will benefit)

  • Are the people who will be

We want to ensure that your money is spent on things that are meaningful to the club members. We have defined the things that we value as a club. It makes it easier for us to make spending decisions quickly if we can see how the money will be spent on things that the club members value.

If you're not sure what to write here you can leave it blank and ideally discuss with anyone you know on the committee and we can help you understand if your idea aligns with the club values

Note: The RLSCC Club Values are detailed on our web site home page. A quick reminder is available below.

Any final considerations

If you are requesting the purchase of something that requires storage (e.g. kids bikes) please note the storage needs here. The club has very limited stroage capacity so this may lead to additional storage costs.

If it is something you can store yourself, please describe how you will make it available for use by others.

Is there anything else you'd like support with to help make your idea a success?

Please consider that the Committee and anyone else helping out are volunteers and have limited time.
